These boxes grew out of the collage work when I needed to include ever more complex and three-dimensional components. Most of the boxes are hand-made from the recycled timber of our old workshop; some are re-purposed containers of various origins.

Most of the materials used for the content are not designed for artwork: among other things, I've incorporated bits of construction toys, feathers, bones, wax and dead insects. There is no telling how these boxes will change as they age, but to me, this is part of their charm.
